PHIL-LiDAR Programs hold CASI Training

The Disaster Risk and Exposure Assessment for Mitigation (DREAM) PHIL-LiDAR 1 Program conducted its first Airborne Hyperspectral Imaging Training (using Compact Airborne Spectographic Imager, CASI) to 20 members of PHIL-LiDAR 1 & 2 Programs last June 22-26, 2015 at the Computational Science Research Center, University of the Philippines Diliman. 

In cooperation with Digiscript Philippines, Inc., lecturers from Environment Agency Geomatics of England, a leading service provider of high quality LiDAR survey and remote sensing solutions were invited. Senior Geomatics Analysts Dr. Kyle Brown and Dr. Crispin Hambridge, and Technical Specialist Dr. Alastair Duncan facilitated the one-week training. 

The course format of the training focused on maximizing the potential of existing instruments the UP DREAM project recently deployed in their aircraft, with a special focus on the multispectral imager CASI. 

Four (4) Program Leaders, 2 Chief Science Research Specialists, 7 Senior Science Research Specialists, and 7 Research Associates from PHIL-LiDAR 1 & 2 Programs were granted participation. They were the following:
